Meet Our Law Clerks

Casey M. Ruppen

LAW CLERK

Casey M. Ruppen was raised in New Brighton, Pennsylvania and graduated from New Brighton High School in 2017. Casey then attended Washington & Jefferson College, graduating Cum Laude in 2021, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Communications with an Emphasis in Public Relations and a Minor in History.

Before working as a Law Clerk at Perantinides & Nolan, Co. L.P.A., Casey worked as a clerk at the law office of Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly, and George, P.C. in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from the University of Akron School of Law with honors - Cum Laude in 2024. While at the University of Akron School of Law, he received the Dean’s List Award and was a member of the Akron Law School’s winning Trial Team.

Natalie Gottfried

LAW CLERK

Natalie Gottfried grew up in Cortland, Ohio. After graduating from Lakeview High School, she attended Mercyhurst University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Applied Forensic Science and minors in Theatre and Pre-Law.

Before working at Perantinides and Nolan, she worked as a law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office and the Western District of Pennsylvania Federal Public Defender’s Office.

Natalie is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law. In addition to her classes, she served as the Executive Editor of Student Writing of Law Review, Treasurer of Trial Team, and a Lexis+ student representative.  During her time on Trial Team, she competed in the Buffalo Niagara Trial Team Competition and American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition.

Nicholas Nussen

LAW CLERK

Nicholas Nussen grew up in Green, Ohio, and graduated from Green High School in 2009. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education from The University of Akron in 2013 and 2015, respectively. After teaching middle- and high-school English in Ravenna, Ohio, and then working as a content writer in communications and marketing, and briefly as the president’s speech writer, at The University of Akron, he now teaches high-school and college-credit English, and coaches speech and debate, at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, while working as a law clerk at Perantinides & Nolan in the summer.

He lives in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with his wife, Beth, who teaches philosophy courses at The University of Akron and Malone University, and his three children.
